Who we are

A coalition of sovereign Tribal Nations, composed of the Bridgeport Indian Colony, the Mono Lake Kootzaduka’a Tribe, the Yerington Paiute Tribe, and the Walker River Paiute Tribe, has established the Four Tribes Alliance to reinforce their shared, ongoing relationship with the Tuvogatudu Plateau by formally engaging with leadership from the Departments of the Interior and Agriculture to seek permanent protection of the land and to exercise co-stewardship authority over Tuvogatudu.

Through the prohibition of ground disturbing activities and collaborative management of this remarkable high elevation plateau, the Four Tribes Alliance is pursuing a viable means of maintaining and enriching, in perpetuity, the unique and essential interrelationship between the land and the people. Shared management will ensure that Tuvogatudu’s sacred nature is preserved, celebrated, and sustained, and that it remains a place that holds Numu beliefs, customs, and practices for generations to come.
